Premium Pound Gion
A moment to unwind in the city.
Enjoy A5 Japanese Black Wagyu and Kobe beef in set menus at this Gion steak restaurant. Meat dishes are cooked before you, with options such as garlic rice and grilled vegetables, alongside wine or sake.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Choose your steak cut and portion as you watch the meat cook across the counter. Diners have described enjoying the experience of having their meal prepared in front of them at Premium Pound Gion, with the interaction with the chef leaving an impression alongside the food itself. The A5 Japanese Black Wagyu course offers a choice of 120g fillet or 150g sirloin steak. It includes an appetiser, a dish of the day, grilled vegetables and salad, followed by garlic rice and dessert. It is an option for those who want to choose a cut and work their way through a course, dish by dish.
The Kobe beef courses also offer a choice of 150g fillet, 200g sirloin or 250g lean beef. The lean-beef option provides a generous portion of meat, while the fillet and sirloin let you choose according to the cut; all are served with an appetiser, grilled vegetables, salad, garlic rice and dessert. One diner described pairing A5 sirloin with miso soup and side dishes, and trying a combination recommended by the chef. Another wrote that they were shown how to enjoy the meat with wasabi or salt. Rather than settling on one seasoning, you can ask about combinations that suit the steak in front of you—a detail that helps shape the meal here.
There is a broad selection of wines, as well as sake. Among the whites are Sauvignon Blanc, described as having citrus-like aromas and fresh fruit flavours, and Albariño, introduced as dry with a crisp acidity. A sake tasting set is also listed for those who would prefer something other than wine. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner, and reservations are available for dinner. Comparing the course options and prices can help you plan a meal around both your preferred cut and your drink.
